Profile of Belia Una du Toit

Una du Toit matriculated at Klerksdorp High School in 1990 where after she started her law studies at Potchefstroom University. She obtained her LLB degree in 1995 and after travelling overseas on a working holiday, started her pupilage at the Pretoria Bar. She was admitted as an advocate of the High Court of South Africa in 2001. She practiced as an advocate and as an attorney and thereafter left the profession to join the corporate world.

She joined Nigel Petzer and Lesley Ramulifho in 2004 in establishing Petzer, du Toit and partners as a new legal practice. Una’s focus in the firm is on the establishment and growth of the property and commercial department. This includes marketing and

implementation of strategic relationships with players in the property industry by building a reputation as a trusted legal partner in all property transactions.

Una gained wide-ranging experience in various areas of law and the time she spent in the corporate arena proves to be invaluable in giving practical advice to clients.

She completed the Certificate for the Commercial Property Practitioner offered by the South African Property Association (SAPOA), in conjunction with the University of Pretoria. The Certificate is South Africa’s premier qualification for practitioners and brokers involved in office, retail and industrial leasing, selling, management and investment.

She is currently enrolled at Wits University for the Management Advancement Programme, which she will complete in April 2005 and at Unisa for a Masters degree in Law.
